My paintings are built up with many layers of acrylic paint mixed with transparent gel. The colors and textures blending with and obscuring layers below create complexities and unify the painting. This is my way of imitating the amazing diversity and simultaneous unity in nature.

I live in Fernandina Beach, Florida where I paint and am a free-lance architect.  I was born and raised in Rhode Island where I had the good fortune to take art classes throughout my years of public school education.

Northeast Florida has been my home since graduating in architecture from Rhode Island School of Design in 1974.  While working in architecture, I continued to explore various art forms and participated in workshops and classes with many wonderful local teachers.  In the mid-1980’s I studied acrylic painting with artist Jeanne Pellegrino and developed a passion for the medium and for working in color. Acrylic paint is still my favorite medium. Organic subject matter intrigues me and balances the usual linear structure of architecture.
