These watercolors were done this April
while on a live-aboard dive boat in Indonesia. I usually did two
dives in the morning then found a shady spot on the deck to paint in the
afternoon. I used watercolor crayons along with paint on a 10x14
block of hot pressed 140 lb. paper.
My intent is to abstractly convey the
wonderful colors and diversity of life on the reefs we dove. Two of
the paintings use the same approach to show my impressions of the market
in the small harbor town of Bima. One is a more conventional
landscape done from the boat in late afternoon as the moon was rising over
a mountainous island.
Available
watercolors are $175 in a white mat with backing, ready for a 16"x20"
frame.
